"Long Awaited" Chapter 26: "Tickets"

Omniscient POV:
Virginia and David were glad to be reconnecting after such a long time and thinking of each other so often. You would be jealous if you were Justin and to see your girlfriend and some other attractive guy getting along with her better than you did. He was getting extremely jealous. He kind of wanted to tell David to leave, but he didn't. He thought that David had his chance and Virginia would never go back to him. The two talked mainly amongst themselves during the time at the mall. David never drew attention to himself because he wanted to stay as inconspicuous as possible. He also wanted to spend as much time with Virginia as humanly possibly before he had to tell her something. While the two and the third wheel, Justin, were in the food court, David thought it was time to tell her something. And it was not going to be that he loved her. She had a boyfriend and if he were to say that in front of him, he would certainly get into a fight. When David was just about to open his mouth to say something, a bulb lit in Virginia's head and she blurted it out before anyone could say another word.

Virginia's POV:
Justin said he had to go to the bathroom and excused himself from the table. I thought of something as soon as he did.
Me: "Oh David, what were those concert tickets about?"
David: "Oh, you got them already?"
Me: "Yeah, why?"
David: "I wanted you to come and bring a friend or something to the concert in two days."
Me: "Aww!! That's so sweet! Who else did you send them to? I must've done something really good to get free tickets to YOUR concert!" I joke around with him.
David: "Well, I sent them to you really."
Me: "Why just me? Don't you have family up here?"
David: "Yeah, but it's like they live really far upstate."
Me: "Oh...well, they would take a trip to come, don't you think?"
David: "I guess, but I don't really want them to because...it's..." he doesn't finish the sentence.
Me: "It's what?"
He looked at me with piercing eyes that I knew were trying to say something, but he just couldn't because he thought it wouldn't be right. I didn't know what he wanted to say and it kind of caught me off guard. "Just Tell Me" was what I wanted to say, but it looked like he couldn't...
David: "inconvenient." He finishes his sentence with an obvious lie to cover something else up.
Just then, Justin came back to the table and said "Hope you two didn't have too much fun while I was gone." and he laughed.
Me: "No way! Not while you were gone, honey." I lean over to him and playfully hit him on the arm. I felt bad that I had set that in front of David and I didn't know why.

David's POV:
When she said that to her boyfriend, my heart ached a little. All this time and all the planning, it was killing me and now that I've seen her again...my worst fear has come true. She was in love with a nice fellow, but I have to be truthful:
Love. It was a beautiful color on her. I just wished it was love she had for me. I have to be honest, I was kind of jealous of Justin. But envy is not a good color on me. I try to be as happy for her as I could, but I visually and emotionally fail in truth. Really, I just learned to except my feelings and now I should cover it up. I didn't want to give up on her just yet. I wasn't planning on giving up so fast and I wasn't going to. But my mind was counteracting what my heart said.
Mind: "I know you love her, but it can never work out. She loves Justin and vice versa. We don't want you to go through heart ache again. Give her up."
Heart: "There is always hope and God always has a plan. She still might come back to you. You two have a history together it might still work. Just keep on believing. You might win her over at the concert with your song. Never give up on love, David."

"Long Awaited" Chapter 25: "The Chase, Part 2/Can't Be Over That Soon"

David's POV:
I came up on a four-way intersection, heading to find Virginia's house. I got the address out of the phone book and called the operator to get directions.. I wrote them down. I was going left. I look to my left and see another car, going straight, with a girl in the passenger seat. It was her. And she was with some guy. I didn't see him at first, I was too blinded by how much she had changed in two years. "Oh God, I want to talk to her," I throw my head against the seat as I ponder if it would be cool to follow them or just meet them at the house. Of course, what love does to me, I immediately change my signal to going right and I know Virginia got confused when the light turns green and I go that way. She obviously saw my blinker for left. I wondered if she knew it was me. I went right after they did, which might have creeped her out, but she didn't notice at first. I am following them. Going every way they are. I couldn't believe I was her stalker.

Virginia's POV:
Me: "Justin, there's a car following us..."
Justin: "What?" He looks back very casually to see what was going on.
Me: "Don't you see it?"
Justin: "Yeah, but maybe they're just going the same way we were."
Me: "Not at first."
Justin: "What do you mean?" He gets concerned.
Me: "Well, at the intersection, he was heading left, then he went right..."
Justin: "He could've put the wrong blinker on..."
Me: "Who makes that mistake?"
Justin: "It's not impossible!" He tries to reason with me.
Me: "But unlikely..."
Justin: "Fine, if he stops where we are, we'll confront the person, okay?"
Me: "Well, I don't want to start anything."
Justin: "We'll talk to the person calmly. It'll be fine." He tries to calm me down.
After about 10 more minutes of driving, we are about to enter the parking lot and the car is still following us. This is getting creepy. We park to the left and so does he, "what a shocker," I say to Justin as I exit the car. The other grey-ish car was kind of familiar now that I got a better look at it because they parked close. We get out and then we see the other person getting out. It wasn't a "they..." it was "he..." and I knew who he was.
Me: "DAVID!"
David: "VIRGINIA!"
This was all in front of my boyfriend, but at the moment I saw David's face, my heart skipped a beat and I didn't care. I run over to him and he runs to me and we give each other a big hug. He's really strong and picks me up off the ground. He's obviously very excited to see me.

David's POV:
Holding Virginia in my arms again was like Heaven. The love of my life in my arms once more.
Justin clears his throat so as to signal Virginia to let go of me. I was reluctant to let her go and I could tell she wanted to hold on a little longer, but she didn't want to get in a fight with him.
Justin: "And Virginia, do you mind introducing me?"
Virginia: "You don't know who this is?" she patronizes her boyfriend a little and motions to me.
Justin: "Not a clue."
Virginia: "Platinum selling Jive recording artist?"
Justin: "Who?"
Virginia: "Singer of the famous, double-platinum 'Crush?'"
Justin: "Still not ringing a bell."
Virginia is about to give up and uses her last resort..."American Idol season 7 runner-up?"
Justin: "Oh my gosh, David Archuleta!"
I smile when he knows my name. He is either a fan or just is a fan of music.
Justin: "David, you are so talented." He comes over to me and shakes my hand.
Virginia: "And you couldn't tell by his face who he was, Justin?"
Justin: "Well, he looks different from American Idol and I've never seen him in person."
Virginia scoffs at her boyfriend's stupidity in front of me. I laugh.
