James' POV:
David: "You know I love meeting new people."
I see the interest in the people there heighten, farther than I expected. It was probably because he was away so long.
Me: "Well...not everyone here you know..."
David: "Cool! Who are they?" He looks over to the people there, trying to hide that he's interested and wants to know so bad he'd run over there and do a dance to find out who it was.
Me: "She..."
David: "Well, who is she?"
Me: "You're going to find out...that's the real reason I set this up for your 'return home." I flinch out of the way.
David: "You set us up?"
Me: "Mmmm...A little bit!"
David: "How can that be a little bit? Does she know?"
Me: "No, she doesn't even know you're coming. But I'll announce your arrival, she'll be happy, she's a big fan. Wait for my signal."
David: "Okay, fine. What's the signal?"
Me: "Your name..."
David: "I'll wait for it."
He seems to be taking this better than expected. I thought he'd be mad, but I guess he's just happy to be home. I'm glad he's not mad, because he does not like blind dates at all.
I gather myself together, emerge out of the forest and walk back over to the fireside. I move myself over to the center, where the fire was placed. The sun was almost about to set, but I didn't want it to right now. I make my presence known as I stand up there. I clear my throat and soon all eyes are on me.
Me: "Thanks for coming guys! I bet you're all excited!"
Crowd: "Yeah!"
Me: "Well, the moment has arrived. He's here!"
The group is silent and I hear separated talking, different conversations. They know him, why are they acting like this?
Virginia approaches my and asks me who's here privately very quickly.
Me: "Gin, I'm getting to that...please sit back down..."
She gets a little suspicious and sits back down very cautiously. She doesn't know what's going to come, but she knows it's either very positive or negative.
Me: "Let's welcome him home, Daaaaavid Archuuuuleeeetaaa" I say enthusiastically.
She comes to me again and tries to be calm, but fails, fails miserably.
Virginia: "Why didn't you tell me this before?" She tries to hide her anger, but excitement at the same time.
Me: "It's was a secret..."
Virginia: "You don't keep something like that from me."
Me: "I'm sorry. Sit down, one second." She happily sits down, she said he head was spinning.
Virginia's POV:
From where James motioned, I keep looking that way. Soon, I see a familiar face, contorted with excitement of seeing his old friends. He's wearing a pair of stone-washed light blue jeans, a red short sleeve shirt with headphones on it, and black and white shoes. His hair was spiked in just the right manner. Needless to say, he looked gorgeous.
People came up to him and gave him hugs, he chatted with them for a while and went around saying hi and thanks for coming to everyone, except for me. I kind of faded into the background, like everyone else did when he was there. I didn't think he noticed I was there. Then he went to James. "Thanks for doing this for me, buddy! I really appreciate it! It's so great to be home! And around all of my friends and family again!"
James: "I'm happy you're happy! I have someone I want you to meet."
David: "I've seen almost everyone here. Is it the person I don't know?"
James: "Yeah." He puts his arm around David and starts walking over to me.
David: "What's her name?"
James: "She'll tell you, believe me."
I get nervous when they start walking over to me, I stand up and start thinking about what I'll say to him. I've never met him before. I don't know what to say. I'm so speechless.
