Virginia's POV:
By this point, Justin and I have took our relationship to boyfriend and girlfriend, we're very happy. We love each other very much and he actually is really sweet. I think I might love him, but I think it's too soon to tell because I still had feelings for someone else. I'm not ready to commit myself to Justin because we are still at the point of having fun together. It was Thursday and I told him that I wanted to go out shopping on Saturday around 2 o'clock. He agreed because he was used to it by now. He knows I can't pick out what looks good on me and what doesn't and I need a second opinion. For the rest of the day, Justin and I were talking...well, I was...I was kind of throwing out ideas of where were could go. He didn't really care, but I knew he was listening...which was oddly endearing.
Friday Morning:
My dad went out to get the mail soon after I woke up. It arrived earlier than usual.
Dad: "Bill...bill...bill...Sean Hannity...bill...Virginia..."
Me: "Yeah, what?"
Dad: "This is for you," and he hands me a letter.
Me: "I got mail?" I sound very surprised because it never happens, like ever. I take the envelope from my father and head up to my room when I see the name on it. "Jive Records." I would've never expected anything from them, I wondered who, from Jive, it was from. Then I remembered...David Archuleta. In my room, I rip open the envelope, never would've thought I'd be so happy to receive a message from him. The note read:
"Dear Virginia Presley,
You have been selected to receive two free tickets to the David Archuleta concert on April 21st. David is looking forward to seeing you there.
- Sincerely,
The David Archuleta Executives at Jive"
My heart skipped a beat when I read it. I was overcome with love once more. Those feelings from over two years ago had come back and it was full force this time. I know the letter seemed too formal to be written by him, and I knew it wasn't, but why would he send me free tickets? Was there something I should know? I shouldn't be feeling like this...what would Justin say?
Friday afternoon:
I wanted to talk to Justin about tomorrow. We discussed a few things like if he would pick me up or I would meet him at the mall or I would pick him up. He laughed at the third option. "No way" was his only words. I knew he meant that he was going to pick me up. We discussed on the stores that we would go to for the shopping extravaganza. He flinched at that word, which made me laugh hard.
Saturday:
April 19th...
Omniscient POV:
Their two lives might cross once more in the intersection that will change everything.
Virginia's POV again:
Justin picked me up at my house and the mall we decided to go to was over an hour away because it had better parking and more stores. It was kind of on the back streets and not many people knew about it. We liked this mall better than the one in the middle of our town. He was sitting in the driver's seat, one arm stretched out on the steering wheel, and the other behind my headrest. I felt secured in his reach and the beauty of the day made me feel comfortable. I turned the radio on and laughed when the first song came on.
Justin: "How is this girl allowed to sing?"
Me: "I have no idea, she sucks, really badly." We laugh and I flip the channel to another station, and a really great song was on.
Justin: "Ohhh, I like this song! I never heard it before though!"
Me: "Are you serious?"
Justin: "Yeah, why?"
Me: "Check some new music. This song is awesome."
We listen to that radio station until a cop's car comes speeding by, tailing another car. Very weird, why would you join a high-speed chase in the middle of the day? What a stupid criminal.
Then, we approached a four-way intersection and there was but one car on the right lane. We were heading straight, and the car had it's blinker on to go left. He was coming our way. I ignored him, why am I so observant today?
