Two days after meeting up with David, I remembered the concert he wanted me to go to. It was on a Monday. I was reluctant because it was a school night, but I really didn't care after I thought of it. I really have to learn to stand up for myself, but when I see him...I just can't. Something about him makes me want to welcome him in again. It took me a long time to realize why that was and it was something I was denying in the relationship I had with Justin, I did still love David, but I wasn't sure if it was the same kind of love. But on the night of Monday, April 21st...I was about to find out the answer to the question I had been asking myself after we reconnected.
At the concert:
David's POV:
I had just finished singing a bunch of the new songs from this album, that the tour was for. I was really liking this crowd. I gave Virginia front row seats and she took her friend, Jennifer, along. She told me that she was also a big fan. I was getting ready to perform the last song of the night, which was also the song I wrote for Virginia, telling her I loved her. "I wonder if she'll know the next song is about her...I think she will." It was the encore song so I went backstage for a few minutes to get a drink of water and talk to Ray, my manager.
Me: "Ray, you know the next song?"
Ray: "Yeah, for that girl you love, right?"
Me: "How'd you know?"
Ray: "Your dad told me!"
Me: "Blabber mouth" and I turn my face away to hide my blushing.
Ray: "What's that on your face?!"
Me: "Nothing," I laugh and blush even harder.
Ray: "Awww!" He begins to tease me.
Me: "Shut up," I exclaim teasingly, "so about the song...she's in the audience..."
Ray: "Yeah, I know..."
Me: "Gosh, does my dad tell you EVERYTHING?!"
Ray: "Pretty much."
Me: "Well, that's comforting. Anyway, do you think she'll know it's about her?"
Ray: "I don't know, David. Only you could know that answer...now go out on stage and sing your heart out. Last tour stop."
Me: "What does that mean?!"
Ray: "Just go!"
I walk back out on stage with a smirk on my face and say hello to the crowd again. And a raging applause erupts. I laugh and say..."okay guys, this is the first time I'm performing this song and no one knows about it yet..." and the crowd goes wild with eagerness! "Calm down, I wrote this song for someone and I hope they know it's for them." My eyes fall to Virginia, standing in the front, talking to her friend.
Virginia's POV:
Me: "Jen, how are you holding up?"
Jen: "Not so good, Gin!"
Me: "Just breathe!!"
David: "Calm down, I wrote this song for someone and I hope they know it's for them." Jen is staring up at the stage and sees David's eyes redirect toward me.
Jen: "Gin, did you hear what he just said?"
Me: "Uh, yeah...so?"
Jen: "He looked right at you when he said that."
Me: "NO! No way! It can't be!"
Jen: "It is..."
Me: "He doesn't..." I say as my mouth drops open...
Jen: "He might!"
